It’s great to bring Emma Hart to Cardiff to give a talk about her art practice.
29/11/23, 18.00 - 20.00
Emma Hart lives and works in London. She makes exuberant sculptures, predominantly in ceramics, which actively confront the viewer, often by jutting out from the wall or physically encroaching on the viewer’s personal space. With Dean Kenning, she curated and participated in the group exhibition Poor Things (Fruitmarket, 2023) an exhibition of sculptures made by 22 artists working across the UK. It came out of conversations about art and social class that Emma Hart and Dean Kenning have had together as friends and as artists. In 2016 she won the Max Mara Art Prize for Women in collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery, and in 2015 she was awarded a Paul Hamlyn Foundation award for Visual Art.
