Gallery Intern - g39

g39 is appointing a Gallery Intern to support all aspects of our 2024 programme. Structured for those in the early stages of a career in the visual arts sector, the role offers training, hands-on experience and insight into the creative and operational processes involved in running an arts organisation. The 2024 internship focuses on developing skills, knowledge and connections – supporting career ambitions beyond the six month period.

Period of employment: 13th March - 13th September 2024
Salary: £23,400 (full time equivalent)
Pro rata two days a week: 0.4 = £9,360 (aligned with real living wage)
Hours of work: Part-time, 15 hours per week, 9:30am-5:30pm, Wednesday – Saturday (when we are open to the public you will be expected to work every Saturday)


The role

You will work with the whole team at g39 to support the research and delivery of the g39 Programme. This includes exhibitions, artist support schemes, workshops, talks, events and the cinema programme. The role will involve practical support as well as planning in its delivery, with training in technical aspects of presentation.

Our community and audiences are central to our work. When we are open to the public, you will share Front of House duties with the rest of the g39 team. This will include being a first point of contact for visitors, welcoming people to the building, directing queries as well as maintaining public areas.

All of this will be underpinned by marketing, you will assist in producing our regular bulletin, including compiling content, publishing and distribution. You will support the team in managing social media and website updates.
