We are so proud to have a special screening of Blue by Derek Jarman to mark the thirty years since it was made.
Blue (1993) consists of one static shot of the colour blue with voiceover and a musical soundtrack. The voiceover, written by Jarman, includes both diary and poetic text documenting his AIDS-related illness and impending death at a time when he had become partially blind. The film is Jarman's last feature and was completed a few months before his death. With an introduction from Joshua Jones to mark the end of his library residency.
