UNIT#1 Carl Slater - Miss America’s Trip to Technoland
Carl Slater’s Miss America’s Trip to Technoland is a new installation work taking us on a mystical pilgrimage through mind alteration and the search for spiritual hallucinations.
Slater’s most recent work, concerned with undercurrents, motifs and music of a notorious sub-culture has taken the form of video, collage and sculpture. For this exhibition he has mapped out a new environment drawing the parallels between religion and rave culture. Utilising found footage and recordings from public and private archives Slater edits a mashup of sourced material, resulting in sensory overload.
Carl Slater is an artist based at KARST in Plymouth.
