Artist Discussion: Abi Palmer and Bryony Ella

Join artists Abi Palmer and Bryony Ella for a discussion about weather, heat and climate.

Presented within the context of Palmer’s exhibited films, Abi Palmer Invents the Weather, and in advance of Ella’s performance, Stand of the Sun, the two artists center interspecies kinship and the power of listening to consider the climate crisis. In her films, Palmer reflects on nonhuman communication and what the changing climate is trying to say to us. While Ella posits: “How does the Sun experience our over-heating world?” From the position of marginalised bodies—from disability to racial and social inequality—both attempts to sit with the same unresolved question of whether we’re here to grieve the climate or resist it.
