Hayley Lock

Lives and works in Suffolk, UK

Hayley Lock's practice is based on reproduction and reconfiguration. Her broad choice of media includes collage, digital manipulation, photography, drawings and sculpture with the addition of sound works created from storytelling.

Using a deliberate mix of high and low-brow mediums, Lock creates startling images that bring disparate cultural, historical and personal narratives into head-on collision. Most recently, the artist has developed a number of works depicting characters from an imaginary world, fantastical figures who have evolved from childhood memories and dark longings.

Hayley graduated with a BA(Hons) Fine Art Textiles from Goldsmiths College in 1989 and is currently a lecturer at Suffolk New College, Ipswich. She has exhibited extensively throughout England and Wales.
