Sophie Buxton

Sophie Buxton uses drawing to interpret and place events around her, attempting to ‘fix’ incidental moments with the additional element of memory.

Her drawings of mountains are about trying to relocate something far away and seemingly unattainable. These drawings were made on the spot, but remain romantically distant. Equally romantic, Buxton refers to these as ‘almost like touching the mountain on the paper.’
