Beau W Beakhouse and Sadia Pineda Hameed are a collaborative duo based in Cardiff, Wales whose practice dramatises, reconstructs and reenacts autonomous and alternate futures.

Their work often takes the form of speculation, resistance and site-building at the intersection of performance and installation. In particular they continuously engage with text and the archive, undoing and disassembling relationships between language and colonialism; and unfolding processes of decay and disassembly as alternatives to western models of preservation. They look to revivification, working against the static categories of institutional models.

Their recent exhibition at Arcade/Campfa it resonates like spalting wood explored how to regain modes of non-western interpersonal communication through film, text, woodcraft and installation; whilst recent performances with g39, Chapter Arts’ Experimentica21 and The Mosaic Rooms imagined new spaces for resistance through print and distribution. They have also exhibited with Bluecoat, MOSTYN, g39 and Gentle/Radical, have recently been in residence with Tangent Projects (Barcelona), Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto (Biella) and Catalyst Arts (Belfast), and were part of the g39 Jerwood UNITe 2021 cohort. Together they also run LUMIN, a print, radio and curatorial collective based in Wales. Sadia was awarded the Paul Hamlyn Award for Visual Artists 2021.
