Rhian Sullivan is a sculptor, texture is one of the foremost concerns in her work and it has remained constant source of investigation. Her practice has been sculpture based for nearly four years, using natural forms like coral as inspiration.
‘I found sculpture to be the most productive way for me to work and it creates the most enjoyable and exciting work with regards to methods and experimentation. Since starting university I have begun to experiment with colour using print to respond to the texture of the sculptural work. Most recently I have started using ceramics. It started as experimentation but has become the main material of my practice.’
Rhian graduated from Cardiff School of Art and Design (CSAD) in 2017 and was selected for the 2017 Wales in Venice Invigilator Plus programme.
