Cathy Herbert

Cathy Herbert is a mature artist whose practice is inclusive of a wide variety of media and techniques.

Her work is intensely personal: for g39 she produced a piece that was initially triggered by her daughter's absence, but which remained ambiguous enough for the viewer's own meanings. Several exaggerated dress/body shapes made from wadding material and dressmaker's pins were suspended from the ceiling and laid on the floor, creating a contemplative environment.

As well as teaching, Cathy is currently working with computer editing and sound editing techniques in her practice.
