Jason Pinder's sculptural interventions are concerned with material experience. Familiar readymade objects (chairs, vessels, ropes, etc) are modified, juxtaposed and re-balanced with the intention of altering perception, or at least stimulating an awareness of the subjective nature of perception. Jason adopts elements of our collective visual language and reduces it to minimal, succinct sculptural statements.
Jason Pinder is based at Warwick Hall Studios and is a founding member of BRG, a group of five artists who adopt a practical approach to researching collaboration and public interaction with visual artists. He graduated from Cardiff School of Art and Design in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and has exhibited widely including OSR Projects, (Somerset, 2013), Lombard Method (Birmingham, 2010), A1 Gallery (Edinburgh, 2010), Volume (Deptford X, 2009), and The Ivy Brown Gallery (NY, 2008). In 2006 he participated in ‘Give them enough rope’, Projection Gallery’s contribution to the Liverpool Biennale.
