Based in Cardiff since graduating from Fine Art at Cardiff Met in 2019, Heledd works across sound, music, and community engagement.
Afon I was written in 2023 as part of Ty Cerdd’s Organ@Soar project, where artists were invited to create new work for the recently restored mechanical organ at Theatr Soar in Merthyr Tydfil. Creating this piece was how I became obsessed with mechanical organs and the huge variety of sound worlds they can offer. I created Afon I with this in mind, wanting the listener to sit with each combination of tones for long enough to ‘tune into’ the huge depth of variation in each note.
Recent shows and performances include support for Maggie Nichols and Dan Johnson at Chapter, a 24 hour residency at Spit and Sawdust with Arcade, and Ty Cerdd’s Organ@Soar concert. Currently she is on a residency with Bay Art.
