Eifion Sven-Myer lives in Swansea where he has a studio with Elysium on the High Street. Recently he has been working on installations which subvert the usual notions of painting and sculpture by using deconstructed paintings sculpturally and the floor and walls as surfaces to paint on, striving to bind the two together. His aim is to create peculiar spaces the viewer can walk inside and experience the visceral quality produced by intermixing two and three dimensions. Eifion’s work process alternates between carefully considered decisions and fulminant gestures in order to embody in his work his interest in antipodes.
