CAAPO is a not-for-profit art production entity, and is co-ordinated and directed by artists Brychan Tudor and Jamie Davies. CAAPO aims to create and promote ambitious works that push the boundaries of its subject matter. It also provides opportunities for artists and curators to produce new work and to develop their professional experience and skills.
It often does this by forming relationships with artists and organisations working outside of Wales, promoting cultural osmosis and celebrating Welsh culture by looking outwards. Additionally, CAAPO has shown a commitment to critical dialogue through the commissioning and production of written texts.
CAAPO shows a continued commitment to making work in the public sphere that affects and benefits a diverse demographic. In 2011-12, CAAPO programmed a series of events under the title 'Dystopia: Are We Nearly There Yet?' which included a research residency, exhibition, series of critical dialogues, public art commissions and a publication. In 2010, CAAPO was commissioned to produce a residency and exhibition entitled 'An Incomplete History of Mapping' for the official Liverpool Biennial Programme.
