Matt Cook is primarily concerned with sound and rhythmic structures and cycles, specifically those we create in our lives that mimic natural rhythm of the world and the artificial rhythm of the city.
His installations and performances range from deafening sound works to more intricate and intimate pieces. Often created using a mixture of new technology and tape loops, these are triggered by Cook himself, the audience or found objects such as train sets.
Recent work includes commissions and exhibitions for Wysing Arts, Colchester; Chapter, Cardiff; BCA, Bedford; Trace, Cardiff.
