Molly Rooke

b. 1987, Taunton, UK
Lives and works in London, UK

Molly Rooke is a printmaker who works with found imagery and covert photography which she manipulates by isolating, enlarging and masking figures within. Her prints often make reference to lithographic processes of high volume printing while using manual methods and techniques. She focuses on the figure of the tourist and the locations they may inhabit, often supplanting false or altered information that disorientates the viewer. The souvenir also holds significance in Molly’s work, because the distribution and consumption of these mementos are common in both tourism and the art world.
Molly is currently (2012) studying on the Printmaking MA at Royal College of Art, London. She graduated in 2010 from University of Wales Institute, Cardiff with a 1st Class BA Honours in Fine Art.

The artist was in the following exhibition:
Chekhov's Gun
