Charles Danby’s work has grown around the simplicity and materiality of that which surrounds us. The work uses language to hold and layer it, the mixed fortune of Glam, an unglossed pop and an unsympathetic povera.
Danby is concerned with the structures of conception, the evaluation of spatial relationships between objects and the flexibility of language. The work is strict but with glitches, which afford the work its richness and substance.
Charles Danby is a curator, writer and artist. He is a co-founder of PROJECKT, a curatorial research partnership that broadcasts projects across the internet and presents work internationally. He lives and works in London.
