Simon Aeppli and David Collins form an artist collaboration that deals with the underbelly of the city. Their working practice is informed by cinema and performance, referencing investigative processes such as surveillance, detection and forensic testing.
For their collaborative project Vehicle, The gallery space became a point of intersection for them: a base, living quarters, a centre of operation to analyse documentary surveillance footage and store evidence.By constructing potential narratives and then playing them out in the gallery space, Aeppli and Collins allow us a window on the dark side of the city.
Both artists studied in Cardiff before moving to London to pursue individual careers.
