Michael Cousin's film, performance and numerous collaborations display an absurd, comical and sometimes darkly sinister edge. Within his work there are urgent hints at a need to communicate some larger unspecified truth - something wordless.
Cousin’s work does not ask for a complete shift in philosophy, rather a bending of the rules. These social interventions, such as playing handball to decide the fate of the universe, searching for friends through small ads, or leading pigeons around a city centre are a small plea for a minor change in the viewers’ perspective.
A Creative Wales recipient, Cousin continues to exhibit internationally, and curates Outcasting, an online artists' video showcase.
