Description: The Scottish Sculpture Open has been running biennially for almost three decades. It is an exhibition based on competitive entry. Projects are sent in and a short list is made. Those artists are then invited to send in more developed proposals including technical specifications. Then after a second round of judging, the successful artists have the opportunity to make their work at the SSW with financial support, on this occasion from the SAC lottery fund. So it is not just a competition. It is a valuable opportunity for those selected to make ambitious work.
