Description: The aim of this book is to focus on the scope and importance of art and design education for children and young people, now and in the future. It is one of a series of events and publications to mark the opening of THE ART MACHINE. This exhibition, organised jointly by Glasgow Museums and Art Galleries and Triangle projects, is a very unusual project. Art exhibitions are seldom organised with children, young people, and families in mind. Art galleries tend to have a very adult feeling to them and many grown ups from many backgrounds feel intimidated by these palaces of culture. THE ART MACHINE sets out to have the opposite effect. It aims to be welcoming, engaging, comprehensible. It asks its guests to take part.
