Description: This catalogue has been published as a record of Tide & Change, an installation by Stephen Turner in Darnet Fort, on Darnet Ness, Kent from 20th September until 20th October 1998.
Darnet Fort, was the location for Tide & Change. The action of the tides around Darnet Ness throughout August 1998 was recorded on large canvas tarpaulins fastened to the river bed. The resulting installation was shown over a complete lunar cycle, new moon to new moon. The fort became the artist`s home and eight visitors were brought out by boat each day when the tide was allowed. Visits lasted for two hours, one hour each side of high water, Visitors stayed overnight on 5th October to celebrate the full moon and experienced the tide`s cycle for themselves.
