Publisher: The Gallery, Ruthin Craft Centre
ISBN: 185991022X
Year: 1995
Subject: Eleri Mills, Welsh Artist, Painting, Sewing, Mixed-media
Description: Eleri`s work is deeply rooted in a sense of place, recent years seeing a new shift, based on her experiences of life`s rites of passage - childbirth and a move back to homeland - she and her husband Robert decided to move back to Wales in 1988. Eleri`s new pieces deal with many issues, from her Welsh identity and a sense of rootedness, to notions of duality (explored through her children) and landscapes of the imagination. They form the bais of this new, solo exhibition which opens at the Museu Tèxtil i d`Indumentària in Barcelona as part of the Wales in Catalonia Festival, then embarks on tour after it`s UK opening in The Gallery at Ruthin Craft Centre in early 1996.
