Description: `Back in 1987 I was given a chance to realize a work I would name R I V E R. In fact this opportune invitation provided the work; it could not have happened otherwise. It was originally made for a large subterranean chamber lying underneath the Almere Stadhuis in the South of Fevoland, only twenty or so miles from Amsterdam. By now the space which housed R I V E R has adopted a name for itself too - Aleph - and a regular program of exhibitions takes place there, hopefully to continue for some time to come.
