Description: In July 1942 the first deployment of a deliberately constructed biological weapon took place on Gruinard Island off the north west coast of Scotland. The test (codenamed N) spread anthrax, leaving the island off limits until it was cleaned up in the 1980s. n is a site specific project by Lloyd Gibson and Mark Little, who created a sculpture made from smart materials as a reflection of a view of the body as a site of crisis, our relationship to the environment and our impact upon it.
