Ali Roche’s work attempts to confound our perception of the world, as might a daydream, blurring the line between the real and the imagined. Her work for g39 showed a skydiver’s descent, and it is only towards the end of the sequence that the figure is revealed as a plastic toy caught on a gutter. The soundtracks of Ali’s work are important because of their emotive qualities when manipulated and used with images. Ali lives and works in Cardiff
