David Marchant uses simple, sometimes fun recognizable objects to portray complex issues, posing questions about seduction, boundaries, manipulation and the loss of the real within our present post modern condition.
These objects, such as balloons, are used in installations and performances that veer between children's entertainer and wild eyed madman. Video work on tiny monitors sees Marchant's naive attempts to reclaim any sense of identity.
