Sarah McLaren produces pieces and situations that study the making of work, reducing it to the essential thoughts, moves and decisions involved in producing work, and utilising simple immediate materials.
She is interested in producing work that retains some of its energy; work that can remain spontaneous and changeable. She uses materials to build, or form shapes into something she can count, measure, grid or grade. Her work includes 3D Objects, ready-mades, drawings, interviews, correspondence, mail-outs and working collaboratively in meetings.
