Jack Duplock's paintings are a mash-up of pop cultural styles with the poetry of narrative painting, creating what he terms as 'Psychedelic Romanticism'.
Exhibiting internationally since 2004, Duplock establishes an unholy alliance between tenderness and horror. This slasher movie sublime is in turn repellent and attractive in his paintings and collages. Rotting corpses, strange disquieting figures and almost theatrical set pieces haunt his work. However, they are imbued with a cheap, corner shop glamour that mixes a boys’ own DIY of glitter and sellotape with the lure of the silver screen.
Born in Dorset in 1975, Jack Duplock now lives and works in London, where he is represented by Keith Talent Gallery.
